History

EXEL is a company that excels in the turnkey supply of advanced hardware and software solutions, on specific customer or on own design. The products in the catalog range from inertial wearable sensors to display units based on Linux or Android and connected in IoT mode.

Custom products, on the other hand, are used in sectors such as fluidics, medical and coffee machines.

As can be seen from the exel.tech domain, for EXEL excel means to generate a high technological and innovation content. Precisely for this reason the headquarters are proudly located in Bologna, the Silicon Valley of Italy, where it participates in an ecosystem that stimulates research and the development of often revolutionary ideas.

The company was founded 30 years ago as a distributor of electronic components, and gradually became a design studio and, for over 10 years now, also in a manufacturing company.

This path characterizes it because direct contact with component manufacturers allows to know in advance and to offer its customers the latest technologies. Moreover, the privileged channel with the most important component manufacturers allows to maintain a control over the purchase costs and, therefore, to overturn any advantages to its customers. In 2017 EXEL was acquired by an important Italian industrial group active in the “foodservice equipment” sector with the aim of creating an electronic competence center that knows how to share innovation ideas with non-competing industrial companies.
